Landscapes Of the Southwest
View
this Collection
Painting landscapes en plein air in many parts of America has been a favorite endeavor for many years. Since moving to Abilene, Texas, in 1997 I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring and painting my new environment. Paintings in this collection are mostly plein air pieces of West Central Texas Plains, the Hillcountry of Texas, Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle, and Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Wherever I go landscapes beg to be painted. These are some from diverse places that I have visited. I have found that every place has beauty and interest. It really is the way the light falls on this beautiful planet.

Seascapes
View
this Collection
Somewhat regularly I am seized with the feeling expressed in a poem I memorized long ago: "I must go down to the sea again." To be at water's edge recording the beautiful subtleties of nature experienced only there is a restorative balm. The paintings in this collection are a product of obeying the urge to "go down to the sea again." Included are images of Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina, Morro Bay, Dana Point and Monterey, California, Destin, Florida, and the tiny country of Bermuda.

Still Life, Interiors, and Florals

Still life painting provides an opportunity for me to really see beloved objects. It also creates the opportunity to work with a wide range of vibrant color and concentrate on design fundamentals.
